George Street

George Street Hastings Old Town

George Street is located in the old town of Hastings.

It is easily found though. Opposite the Flamingo fun park on The Stade is the entrance to the High Street. George Street is the second road on the left, opposite the Blue Dolphin fish and chip shop.

George Street is certainly one of the most popular roads amongst both locals and the town's visitors.

George Street Hastings Old TownIt has some of the oldest inns (public houses) in the town including Ye Olde Pump House, The Hastings Arms and The Anchor Inn. All of these are popular meeting places for families and friends.

For dining you can of course it in (or outside) a pub, alternatively there are many popular restaurants in this road.

Shopping in George Street is always popular because there are so many specialist stores available. From art stores to stores dealing in collectibles there's a shop to suit all tastes.

Several years ago the road was pedestrianized. The absence of traffic helps considerably as the street can have a very heavy foot flow. At the western end of George Street lies the entrance to The West Hill Lift (funicular railway).
